The "200 years" RCZ claims victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
The Peugeot Germany team's "200 years" RCZ won the 38th Nürburgring 24 Hours in the under-2L Diesel category.
To mark the launch of its exceptional Peugeot RCZ coupé as well as its bicentenary, Peugeot took
part in this mythical event around the Nürburgring race course for the first time by placing two cars
in competition. This race, which has a strong following in Germany, attracts 220,000 spectators
every year with over 211 cars lining up on the starting grid.
The RCZ No. 201 driven by Jürgen Nett - Joey Kelly - Michael Bohrer - Henning Klipp took first place
in the D1T category sharing the podium with the RCZ No. 200 driven by Jean-Philippe Peugeot -
Stéphane Caillet - Cyrus Ayari - Olivier Perez, which took 3rd place in the same category.
The success of the RCZ is down to the car's remarkable reliability, the performance of the HDI FAP
engine with 200 hp and the efficiency of its running gear. These factors all contributed to the
successful outcome of this race. Peugeot is keen to acknowledge the efforts of all the engineers,
technicians and drivers, both French and German, who participated in this amazing human
adventure, demonstrating fantastic commitment throughout.
Finally, Peugeot also notes the victory in the overall standings of Pedro Lamy (Peugeot Sport driver)
and his team-mates at the wheel of the official BMW M3 No. 25.
